BACKGROUND

The Outf!t project was launched in 2003 and is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status, based in Elgin.

Partnership working is a key factor in the success and development of Outf!t.  Our partners include – Moray Council (Secondary and Primary Schools, Youth Justice Team, Social Work and Community Learning and Development), Forestry Commission, Police Service, Moray Youth Action, The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Wild Things, The Moray Gig, Moray Firth Watersports Association.

OUR OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of Outf!t-Moray are to:

  • Provide opportunities to young people to support their learning and development.
  • Promote social inclusion and encourage social interaction.
  • Increase physical activity and promote well-being.
  • Work with schools, youth agencies, partners and communities to encourage participation.
  • Provide alternative options to divert young people from less appropriate activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and positive risk taking.
  • Develop local capacity by providing outdoor training for ‘leaders’ who work with young people.
  • Develop new ideas to generate income in order to become more self-sustaining.

OUR OUTCOMES

We are developing our evaluation process in order to more adequately meet the objectives set by our funders.  We have five key outcomes:

  • Increase young peoples' self esteem and confidence.
  • Improve young peoples' communication skills.
  • Improve young peoples' ability to work with others in a team.
  • Increase young peoples' awareness of responsibility.
  • Support young peoples' educational engagement

FUNDRAISING AND SUSTAINABILITY

To fulfil our objectives we work hard to raise funds and subsidise our activities.  However, to sustain our level of commitment to the communities of Moray we are in constant need of donations from Grant Making Trusts, Corporate Organisations and Private Sponsors.

One way we encourage funders to assist us is via “Gift Aid”.  Expanding our network of “friends” is an important development for us and your help would be enormously appreciated and will really make a difference.  As a result, we will receive 28p for each £1 that you donate.

If you feel you can help us with either a private or corporate donation and require further information then do not hesitate to contact us.  To download a copy of “Friend of Outf!t-Moray” Gift Aid Form please click here.
